The students and teachers of Pakruojis Atžalynas Gymnasium implemented a project inspired by an episode of Spider-Man about web threads stopping a train. The activities started on the 11th February and finished on the 30th March 2022. During the project “Spider Superpowers”, using mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology, the life of spiders, the structure of the thread, the elasticity and strength of a simulated (nylon crocheted) spider web were studied. Finally, under certain assumptions, an attempt was made and calculations were done to prove that the cobweb and its threads can really be powerful enough to stop the wagons of a moving train.
